Request for the Registration Certificate should be made to the assessed state tax department within 30 days of employing staff for his business. Businesses and individuals with annual revenues exceeding Rs. 20 lakhs in most regions and Rs. 10 lakhs in Special Category States are required to register for GST. For individuals selling goods within a state, regardless of their income level, registration for GST is mandatory[5].
PAN Card
To operate a business with an Indian company or within India, a PAN card is required. It is essential for any company or business involved in generating income in India, regardless of its registration status, permanent establishment, or office presence in the country, to also obtain a PAN card. This can be achieved by submitting the PAN application form, specifically Form49A[6].
Trademark Registration
Registration of a trademark is governed by the Trademark Act of 1999. This registration grants the owner exclusive use rights, preventing unauthorised parties from exploiting the mark for the registered owner’s benefit. Upon approval of a trademark application, the applicant and the brand owner may make use of the “TM” symbol. In India, securing trademark registration is essential to protect the brand name[7].
